Hangzhi DIT200-SG Current Sensor Wiring Instructions

Verdrahtungsanleitung für den digitalen Strommessumformer Hangzhi (DB9/Phoenix-Klemme)

Modell-Nr.: DIT200-SG

Vorbereitung der Ausrüstung vor der Verkabelung und den Tests

Welcome to this episode on current transducer wiring operation. We will use the Hangzhi DIT200-SG transducer as an example to demonstrate the wiring operation of a digital current transducer. Here are all the devices we will be using:

  • The multi-functional transmitter calibration device developed and manufactured by Hangzhi, which is used for output measurement in this environment.
  • Power supply: Provides±15V power to the transducer.
  • DIT200-SG digital current transducer,
  • upper computer for reading.

Hangzhi DIT200-SG high precision digital current transducer adopts a new hardware and software design, enabling simultaneous measurement of AC/DC current and frequency. The product outputs high precision digital signals and supports RS232 and RS485 communication interfaces, facilitating system integration and remote monitoring.

Looking at the transducer’s appearance, the mounting holes are designed at the rear side. The front panel is equipped with a DB9 socket for transducer application connections and operational status indicators. The center of the transducer features a bus bar perforation for the current under test. The bottom of the transducer houses the digital conversion box, which includes a power indicator, communication operation indicator and a Phoenix terminal socket.

How to wire the DIT200-SG current sensor?

Next, let’s introduce the pin definitions of the DB9 terminal and Phoenix terminal. The transducer panel’s surface is labeled with the functional definitions of the DB9 terminal pins. For this transducer, only pins 4, 5, and 9 are used: Ground (0V power), Power Negative (V-), and Power Positive (V+), meaning they are solely for power supply.

Let’s look at the 6 pin Phoenix terminal. From left to right, pins 1 to 6 are labeled on the transducer’s side.

  • Pin 1: +5V Output (provides external 5V power)
  • Pin 2: RS232_TX (RS232 transmit of this device)
  • Pin 3: RS232_RX (RS232 receive of this device)
  • Pin 4: GND (signal isolation ground)
  • Pin 5: RS485_B (RS485B)
  • Pin 6: RS485_A (RS485A)

The transducer supports two communication modes: RS232 and RS485. During measuring, firstly insert the power cable, wired according to the terminal definitions into the DB9 socket on the transducer panel. Tighten the screws on both sides to complete the power wiring. Then insert the cable wired according to the Phoenix terminal pin definitions into the Phoenix terminal socket on the transducer conversion box. Connect the other end to the communication cable (using RS232 as an example). Once it is connected, link it to the computer and complete all wiring processes.

  1. Tip 1: Note: “Ground” refers to the power reference ground.
  2. Tip 2: Not a protective “ground.”

How to use the DIT200-SG current sensor for testing?

After verifying every processes are correct, power on the transducer under no-load conditions. Upon normal power on, the transducer’s green operation indicator should remain lit, and the conversion box’s green operation indicator should also remain lit. If the indicators do not light up, first check whether the power wiring is properly connected.

Open the corresponding demonstration software on the computer, select the appropriate serial port number, open the transducer, and click “Data Refresh”. The conversion box’s yellow operation indicator should blink. If the light does not blink, first check whether the communication wiring is properly connected or if the computer’s RS232 driver is installed. Once you confirm the transducer can be powered on normally, you can begin using it for current measurement.

Hangzhi transducers can measure both AC and DC currents. Here, we use DC as an example. When testing DC, the positive current direction must align with the arrow indicator on the top of the transducer. Output a 30A DC test current using a standard source, and you can observe the corresponding communication data on the computer.

  • Tip 1: If the operation indicator does not light up, check whether the power wiring is properly connected.
  • Tip 2: If the yellow operation indicator does not blink, check the communication wiring or the computer’s RS232 driver.

The above is the complete wiring process for the Hangzhi DIT200-SG digital current transducer. We hope this video helps you better understand and operate the device. If you have any questions during use, feel free to contact us anytime!
